Aryan Khan Case Updates: Sameer Wankhede reaches Delhi; Pune Police's search for Gosavi underway

A three-member team led by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede, who led the cruise ship drug bust involving Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, arrived in Delhi amid bribe allegations against him. While talking to India TV, Sameer said that all the allegations against him are baseless. He said that he is in Delhi for some other reasons. Wankhede said that he will answer everyone through legal means.

Kiran Gosavi who had made headlines after he was seen accosting Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan at Narcotics Control Bureau's (NCB) office in a viral selfie might surrender in front of UP Police in Lucknow.

NCB witness Kiran Gosavi tells ANI: "False allegations. They fabricated stories and are changing directions(of probe). It's I who was being threatened that I led to his (Aryan Khan's) arrest ,I received phone calls. I'm surrendering in half an hour outside Maharashtra. Everything will be clear."

Sameer Wankhede's wife, Kranti Redkar Wankhede, reacts to Nawab Malik's allegations and clarifies that the NCB officer was born to a Hindu father while his mother was a Muslim. She also explained that this is his second wedding.

Praising her husband, Kranti claims that Sameer Wankhede has always been very honest to his job and his country. His integrity should not be questioned. She further says that people are targetting him and his family which is a price to pay after all the work he has done. She also claims that the truth will eventually come out.

Considering the nature of the relief claimed in the application, Mumbai Sessions Court said that no such blanket orders can be passed. It is for the concerned court or authority to pass appropriate order at the relevant stage. Moreover, the matter is sub-judice before the Honourable High Court in bail applications in same FIR. Therefore, no such orders can be passed by the court as prayed. Hence, the application is filed and disposed off. 

Mumbai special NDPS court has taken the affidavit of Prabhakar Sail on record as prayed by NCB. Judge VV Patil says, "it is filed."

NCB's Vigilance team will record statements of not only its own Witness Prabhakar Sail (who himself accused NCB) but also of Investigating Officer Samir Wankhede and his entire team. Vigilance team can also record statements of Shah Rukh Khan's manager Pooja Dadlani and Sam (who made Gosavi meet Pooja). Statements of Sameer Wankhede's driver and staff will also be recorded. 

In such a case, vigilance is first registered through PE i.e. Preliminary investigation and after that if the allegation is found to be true in the initial investigation, then the vigilance team informs the DG of NCB. Then on the orders of DG, the departmental inquiry starts.

Kapur, known to star in films like "The Making of the Mahatma" and Basu Chatterjee's TV series "Byomkesh Bakshi", said the media trial of the Khan family is "extremely unfortunate." "Because people in the film industry are in the limelight, they are injected with this excruciating scrutiny. It is really unfair. This young man happens to be Shah Rukh Khan's son. Do you think if he was not Shah Rukh Khan's son, he would be made to go through this? The media making a whole 'tamasha' out of it? It would have gone unnoticed," Kapur told PTI.

The 61-year-old cinema and theatre veteran said his heart goes out to Aryan, who he feels must be going through an intense range of emotions. "Of course, as a parent, I would be traumatised. But think about the young man. What is he going through, what will he think, 'My father is Shah Rukh Khan and he can't do anything. ' So that means, today being Shah Rukh Khan's son is what has gone against him. It is terrible."

Appearing before Special NDPS court, NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede told the judge that he was being targeted and is ready for a probe. Two affidavits have been filed in the case. One by NCB and one by Wankhede.

Prabhakar Sail, witness in the case reaches Crime Branch office.

NCB files counter-affidavit at the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act) court have indicated that the affidavit filed on Sunday by Prabhakar Sail shows that he has turned hostile.

NCB will be filing two shreds of evidence regarding the developments in case. The first affidavit will be filed by Sameer Wankhede while the second affidavit is being filed on behalf of NCB

In his affidavit, Sameer Wankhede has also mentioned that he is being threatened and due to this, the investigation is being affected.

The court has been urged to take cognizance of it.

Taking to Twitter, Nawab Malik tweeted a certificate and adds 'Dawood' to zonal officer Sameer Wankhede's name. He wrote, "Sameer Dawood Wankhede का यहां से शुरू हुआ फर्जीवाड़ा," and "Pehchan kaon?" alongside his posts.

NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede writes to Mumbai Police Commissioner requesting him to "ensure that no precipitate legal action is carried out to frame me with ulterior motives."

An NCB team busted an alleged drugs party on the Cordelia Cruise ship which was on its way to Goa at mid-sea on October 2, following which Aryan Khan and some others were arrested.

A senior NCB official denied the allegations, terming them as "completely false and malicious". Meanwhile, Wankhede on Sunday wrote to Mumbai police commissioner Hemant Nagrale seeking protection from likely legal action "being planned" against him by unknown persons to falsely frame him concerning an alleged vigilance related issue.

Without taking names, Wankhede, an IRS officer of the 2008 batch, claimed in his letter that the threat of jail and dismissal have been issued against him on public media by highly respectable public functionaries.

An 'independent witness' on Sunday claimed that Rs 25 crore was demanded by an official of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and other persons, including absconding witness K P Gosavi, to let off Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who was arrested in the case.

Prabhakar Sail, the 'independent witness', told media persons that he had overheard Gosavi telling one Sam D'Souza over the phone after Aryan Khan was brought to the NCB office after the October 3 raid about a demand of Rs 25 crore and "to settle at Rs 18 crore as they have to give Rs eight crore to Sameer Wankhede", the zonal director of NCB.

Ananya Panday has been summoned for questioning by NCB today.

During the investigation, the NCB had found some WhatsApp chats between Aryan Khan and Ananya Panday. The NCB officials wanted to gather more information about the chats and hence she was summoned. Her laptop and mobile phone has been seized by the agency.

A special court, designated to hear cases related to the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS), refused to grant them bail noting that "they were part of the conspiracy". His lawyers moved the HC and the hearing on his bail application is scheduled to take place on October 26.

Bollywood superstar SRK's son Arayn Khan, his friend Arbaaz Merchantt, model Munmun Dhamecha and others were detained by NCB. The trio is presently in judicial custody. While Aryan Khan and Merchant are lodged at the Arthur Road prison in central Mumbai, Dhamecha is at the Byculla women's prison.
