Srinagar: Two soldiers were killed and as many injured tonight when two separate groups of armymen opened fire at each other allegedly in a case of mistaken identity in Tral area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district.
Two army units were on separate patrol duty in Noorpora area of Tral, 35 kms from here, when they fired at each other allegedly in a case of mistaken identity, a senior army officer said.
He said two soldiers died in the firing incident, adding an inquiry has been ordered into the circumstances leading to the incident.
Police officials said two soldiers were also injured in the incident.
