Jhajjar (Haryana), July 10: Armed robbers looted over Rs.9 lakh cash from a farmers' bank on the Jhajjar-Bahadurgarh road in Haryana Tuesday, police said.
The branch of Krishi Gramin Bank, located at Noona Majra village near the Haryana-Delhi border, was looted by five robbers, who then fled in a SUV.
Police said that three armed men with masked faces entered the bank in the afternoon and held the bank staff at gun-point and took away the cash in the bank. Two accomplices were waiting in the SUV outside.
The bank did not have any security guard when the incident happened. CCTV footage of the bank did not reveal much as the robbers wore masks.
"Three police teams have been constituted to identify and nab the robbers. The bank employees are also being questioned to find out clues about identification of the criminals," a Jhajjar police spokesman said.
