Area around Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's residence Matoshree has been sealed by BMC after a tea vendor in the locality is suspected to be COVID-19 positive. Thackeray and his family including minister Aaditya Thackeray reside in Matoshree. Mumbai has the highest number of cases at 433 and 30 deaths, as of Sunday. However, the BMC denying any such report said, "Media reports that area near Matoshree house in Mumbai is sealed is incorrect, routine sanitisation work was going on," news agency ANI reported quoting BMC PRO.
Maharashtra Government has currently set up 4653 relief camps sheltering 4,54,142 migrant labourers nd providing food to 5,53,025 migrant labourers and homeless people across the state, Office of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra said.
Earlier today, a 57-year-old man died of COVID-19 in Mumbra township, the first death from the infection in Thane Municipal Corporation limits. Of the 91 cases, 17 are in Thane, 27 in KDMC, NMMC 28, including one death, 13 in Mira-Bhayander, and one each in UMC, Ambernath and Badlapur, as well as three in Thane rural.
India on Monday saw highest jump in COVID-19 cases with 703 new patients in last 24 hours. The country's coronavirus positive patients tally now stands at 4281 including 111 deaths, according to Union Health Ministry data.
