Anti-Telangana protests in Andhra Pradesh turn violent

Kadapa/Vizianagaram: After 65 days, the peaceful agitation opposing bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh took a violent turn on Friday as agitators of political parties and Samakhyarashtra Parirakshana Samathi attacked central government offices in Kadapa, Jagan Mohan's



Meanwhile, a police intelligence officer told PTI that violence is likely to increase in the coming days, adding that additional forces would be deployed.

In Vizianagaram, protesters today attacked the residence of AP Congress president B Satyanarayana, and set fire to the cable operation office run by his relatives.

The protesters stopped fire tenders from dousing the fire, as tension mounted in the town.

B Satyanarayana is also the state transport minister and his wife Botsa Jhansi is the Congress MP from Vizianagaram.
