In a twist to the case of a couple who were believed to have been killed in a case of honour killing but resurfaced, the medical report of the girl says she is a major and two months pregnant.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Ravish Kumar said in Muzaffarnagar that according to the report Anshu Tomar was two months pregnant and aged 19 years.
Anshu, who was believed to have been killed in a case of honour killing, resurfaced with her boyfriend Ajit Saini at a police station in the district on May 9. She was sent to a Women's protective home and medically examined. The girl will be produced in court for recording of her statement.
Earlier, Anshu had claimed that she willingly eloped with her boyfriend and got married to him. Her brother Anuj had also allegedly confessed to killing Ajit for the "honour" of the family.
