Amit Shah meeting today: Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired two high-level meetings on Leh-Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
The meetings were attended by the Lieutenant Governors of both the Union Territories of Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir.
According to reports, the meeting on Leh-Ladakh took place at around 3 pm, while the discussion on Jammu and Kashmir began at 4 pm. During the meeting, Shah was apprised of the UT's developmental projects and current security situations in the Valley.
The meeting on Jammu and Kashmir was held at a time when at least four terrorists were killed during an encounter triggered after security forces intercepted a Kashmir valley-bound truck near Sidhra on Wednesday. The J&K Police later said that war-like stores including seven AK 47 rifles, one M4 carbine, and three pistols were also recovered from the encounter site.
Besides the L-Gs, Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla and senior officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the two UTs were also present in the meeting.
As per sources, developmental projects in both the UTs as well as security-related matters and other issues were on the agenda of the meetings. Meanwhile, both the UTs were also advised to take essential steps in the wake of the COVID-19 threat.
The UTs were also be suggested to boost their medical items and procure them as per needs and circulate messages in all the village surveillance committees for being active.
