Ahmedabad: Former Gujarat minister Amit Shah, arrested in connection with the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case, was admitted to the civil hospital here on Monday after he complained of chest pain, jail officials said.
Shah, who has been in jail since July 25 after his arrest by the CBI, was admitted to ward G-6 of the hospital where he has been kept under observation.
According to the doctors, various tests have been conducted on Shah, results of which are awaited. Shah, a close aide of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, has been described by the CBI as the "kingpin" of the entire conspiracy leading to the encounter of Sohrabuddin, killing of his wife Kausar Bi and also Tulsi Prajapati, a key witness. The judicial custody of the former minister of state for home ends on September 3. PTI
