Amarnath Yatra 2022/ Amarnath cloudburst: A cloudburst was reported near the camp of the holy cave shrine. Officials said that the cloudburst hit the cave area at around 5.30 pm after heavy rains. Police and other civil administration have launched a rescue operation as some langars were affected by the gushing waters, the officials said. The gushing waters hit the base camp outside the shrine, damaging 25 tents and three community kitchens where the pilgrims are served food. The Amarnath Yatra saw setbacks several times this year due to bad weather.

The Amarnath Yatra, which sees an ocean of Lord Shiva devotees from different walks of life commenced on June 30 this year. The Yatra will conclude on August 11.
