Dubbing Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav a 'don,' expelled party leader Amar Singh on Friday questioned why Jaya Bachchan was renominated for Rajya Sabha elections when he was removed from the party for bringing the Bollywood star in the organisation.
"I want to ask SP's don Mulayam Singh Yadav as to why he renominated Jaya Bachchan for Rajya Sabha polls when I was expelled from the party for bringing her into the SP fold," Singh said in his latest blog postings.
His comments came hours after Bachchan turned down SP's nomination to contest RS polls once again as the party candidate from Uttar Pradesh.
Singh claimed that this morning only he had requested Amitabh Bachchan to allow his wife Jaya to contest the polls if she so wished. He said the 'Big B; has always insisted that the Bachchan family should maintain a distance from politics.
Singh wondered whether the party's decision to field its national spokesperson Mohan Singh in place of Jaya Bachchan was a reward for attacking him (Amar) and his supporters.
He said that after becoming a Rajya Sabha member, "an unwell" Mohan Singh could get treatment at government expense. PTI
