New Delhi: The all-party delegation on Kashmir is expected to visit the state by Sunday on a two-day trip during which plans are being made to meet people from various sections of society including separatist Hurriyat.
The logistics of the visit of the delegation, on which a decision was taken at an all-party meeting chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today, were being worked out. Official sources said the delegation is also likely to visit Jammu also.
They said there is an open invitation for anyone who wants to come forward and talk to the delegation. They said anyone including women organisations, youths and NGO are welcome to come forward and meet the delegates.
They said the delegation will come back and give its feedback following which the Cabinet Committee on Security is likely to meet. The delegation is being sent to assess the ground situation. The all-party meeting however failed to arrive at a consensus on the issue of withdrawal or dilution of the contentious Armed Forces Special Powers Act. PTI
