Dalip Singh Rana, popularly known as The Great Khali, has said that all WWE fights are real. “The wrestling is real, all the injuries are real, so much so that in no other sports, whether soccer, or cricket or hockey,  players get so many injuries as in WWE”, says Khali.

Grilled by Rajat Sharma in India TV's Aap Ki Adalat, The Great Khali replied to several of the charges made against him in the media. He denied that he was unwell as reported in Japan Times. “By God's grace, I am fully fit and healthy and I will continue to do wrestling”, said Khali.

The fearsome 7' 3”, 420 pounds hulk of a wrestler Khali said: “Had the WWE fights were artificial and pre-scripted, there would have been no need for wrestlers like The Great Khali and The Undertaker. You cannot fool thousands of people crammed into a stadium and sitting four to five feet away from you in the ring”.

Born in Ghirana village of Himachal Pradesh, Khali comes from a poor background, joined Punjab Police from the sports quota after he excelled, first in bodybuilding and then in wrestling.

Khali wears a number 18 shoe, gets his clothes specially stitched and has a huge appetite of 30 rotis, 5 litres of milk, 3 kg chicken and a kilo of dry fruits. Khali shyly said: “I am a veggie now and I only eat roti, pulses and vegetables”.

When Rajat Sharma showed him a capsule which if dipped in water turned the liquid  blood red, Khali smiled and replied: “Such things do happen in films but not in WWE. There the blood that is spilled is real. How can you fool thousands of people sitting and watching each of your actions”.

On being suspended by Punjab Police for long absence without permission, Khali admitted he might have broken rules, but he said, he has applied for five years leave without pay in order to promote sports.

“Let me make it clear, I have not committed any crime. I might have broken rules, but whatever I did was for my country. For the last 9-10 years, not a single day has passed when I failed to hold aloft my country's prestige”, the body builder-turned wrestler said.

Khali confided: “My wife asks me daily to leave wrestling, but I will not leave my favourite sport. I will train others”.

Do not miss AAP KI ADALAT with Rajat Sharma grilling The Great Khali which will be telecasted on India TV On Saturday (December 5) at 10 pm and on Sunday (December 6) at 10 am and 10 pm.
