Dhanbad: All the 50 coal miners trapped inside the Basanti Mata colliery near Dhanbad were rescued this evening, after four workers died in a roof collapse.
The mishap took place at around 11 am and the roof suddenly caved in .
Rescue teams from Dhanbad rushed to the scene, and with the help of local people, rescued all the miners, as their relatives outside heaved a sigh of relief.
The miners were trapped nearly 30 to 40 feet below the ground, officials said.
Those who died have been identified as unit manager Arup Chatterjee, Harilal, Littu Sao (operator) and Sitaram Majhi.
The Basanti Mata colliery belongs to Bharat Coking Coal Ltd in Area 12.
