New Delhi, Aug 19: Resident doctors, students and staff of All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Safdarjung Hospital today took out a candle light march to express solidarity with Anna Hazare's ongoing fast to get the Jan Lokpal Bill passed in Parliament.
About 700 resident doctors, students and nurses of both the hospitals took out the candle light procession from Safdarjung hospital to India Gate.
“We took out the march, which started at 6.30 PM and ended at 9.30 PM at India Gate, in support of Jan Lokpal bill and the ongoing movement at Ramlila grounds,” said Devjyoti Karmakar, President of Resident Doctor's Association.
They got full cooperation from police and there was no disruption in traffic movement during the march, he added. Upping the ante, Anna Hazare has given a 12-day deadline to the government to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill failing which he will continue his fast till his last breath.
Anna Hazare's movement is getting support of people from all walks of life. PTI
