New Delhi: Protesters today clashed with police in Lucknow during a violent protest over Azam Khan's decision to sell properties of Waqf board.
Clashes erupted on Friday after a group of Shia protesters marched towards Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's house furious with SP leader decision to sell properties of Waqf Board and appoint Waseem Akram as the member of the board.
The protest was led by Shia community leader Kalbe Javed.
While the group tried to march towards the Chief Minister's house, they were stopped by the police which led to a retaliation by the angry crowd.
A few agitators were also seen beating up a policemen following which security forces resorted to lathicharge.
