Dhanbad: Aiming to bring 'Acche Din of Education', students at Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad have come up with an innovative idea of ‘Knowledge Packet Challenge'.

So far, 2000 students of ISM, Dhanbad went around 12 Basti of Dhanbad City and distributed 1500 education kit to children living there. They spent around 10 minutes with every child and their family motivating them to send their children to school.

Education kit comprised of a basic book, a notebook, 2 pencil, 1 eraser and 1 sharpener.

The volunteers were asked to upload their 30 second video and challenge three of their friends to do the same.

In case, someone fails to do it within 24 hours, he/she need to donate Rs 25/- to PM Relief Fund on pmindia.nic.in

Sunny Soarabh, final year student, Mining Engineering, said that the campaign is part of their long-pending demand of converting ISM into IIT.

“Our demand is of conversion of Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad to Indian Institute of Technology. This was also our way of protest against the delay in taking this crucial decision,” he said.
