New Delhi: At least 2 persons died and 7 others were injured after Mumbai bound Duronto Express derailed in Karnataka on Saturday morning.
The incident took place at 2:15 am near Gulbarga at Martur bordering Maharashtra.
Railways said that derailment of 7 passenger coaches, pantry car and power car of 12220 Secunderabad-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) Duranto Express on Solapur Division of Central Railway has disrupted Up and Dn lines on Wadi-Gulbarga section.
"NDRF has despatched 2 teams for the accident site, one from Hyderabad and one from Pune," NDRF DG OP Singh told reporters.
Meanwhile, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said that all possible help being provided to affected families & passengers.
"All 7 injured rushed to civil hospital, treatment on, rail doctors are on job. All arrangements made to take others to destination, special train." he said in a tweet.
