Panaji: The Anti Narcotic Cell (ANC) of Goa Police has arrested 40 Nigerians on charge of selling narcotics in the last three years, SP Karthik Kashyap said on Sunday.
He said, there was no drug case registered against the Nigerian national Obado Uzoma Simeon, who was murdered on October 30 at Parra, that triggered violence by Nigerians staying in Goa.
Kashyap said, it was wrong to say that the Goa Police was targeting a particular country. "We are not targeting the Nigerians. We are arresting anyone who is involved in illicit narcotics trade", he said.
The SP of anti-narcotic cell said, normally cocaine is smuggled in from Latin America countries, charas from India's hilly areas, and LSA comes through sea and chartered flights.
