Raipur: An assistant commandant of CRPF and two other personnel were today injured in a landmine blast in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, police said.
Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 168th battalion's assistant commandant Madhukumar, and inspectors T A Khan and Manoj Kumar D were injured when they came in contact with a landmine which exploded on Avapalli road under Basaguda police station limits in Bijapur, a senior police official told PTI over phone.
A team of CRPF had been sent for patrolling this morning. When the security personnel reached the Avapalli road, they got information about a landmine having been laid there underground, he said.
The bomb disposal squad of CRPF immediately started efforts to take it the landmine, but in the process it exploded and three personnel at the site sustained injuries, he said.
Additional police force was rushed to the site and the injured personnel were retrieved from there. They were flown to Raipur in a helicopter where they were admitted in a hospital for treatment, the official added.
