Kushinagar (UP): Twentyseven members belonging to five Hindu families in Gangua Mathia village have been converted to Christianity, and after the fact came to light, all the five families left their village, media reports said.
On Sunday morning, villagers noticed that these five families were offering prayers to Lord Jesus, after which most of the other Hindu families in the villages declared a social boycott.
Local villagers said, a priest had been coming to the house of one Dilip Gupta for the last six months. For the last one week, members of these five families used to congregate at one place and chant prayers in praise of Lord Jesus.
Dilip Gupta's neighbours Prabhu Prajapati, Kishen Guptam Malti Gupta and Ramawati Gupta along with their family members were seen offering prayers to Lord Jesus.
The local administration is investigating.
