Mumbai: Sheru, a 14-year-old stray dog, who was hit by a bullet from a terrorist during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, died of cardiac arrest this morning.
The terror victim canine passed away at the veterinary hospital in Parel at around 7:30 am on Saturday.
Ailing Sheru had also developed a leg injury recently, said Dr Mayur Dangar, manager of Bombay Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The stray dog used to live in the streets outside Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, the scene of terrorist carnage of November 26, 2008. Two bullets hit Sheru during the attack.
One of the bullets was taken out from Sheru's back during a surgery, while the other bullet was still lodged in his neck, as it had pierced his respiratory tract.
