Shimla, Jan 4: About 200 tourists stranded at Gulaba on Manali-Rohtang Road, 22 KM from Manali, due to snowfall were rescued by the local administration but over 50 tourists were still stuck there as the link road had been breached due to snow and rains.

“Most of the tourists stuck at Gulaba due to heavy snowfall have been rescued and brought to Manali and rescue operations are on to bring the remaining 50 tourists”, Additional District Magistrate R.K. Pruthi said over phone.

He said snow scooters have been deployed to rescue the tourists from Marhi and all of them are safe with no report of any illness or injury.

The administration has advised the tourists not to venture into remote areas of the state during winter as chances of heavy snowfall were high in the next three days.
