Pratapgarh (UP): At least 20 youths were injured today in a stampede during an Army recruitment at a government college here.
The incident took place this morning when the youths who had gathered in a large number were taking tokens for the recuritment exercise, Superintendent of Police L R Kumar said, adding 13 of the injured were in critical condition.
Chaos prevailed as rainfall started and the youths started running helter-skelter leading to a stampede.
The injured were rushed to the hosptial, where condition of 13 was stated to be critical and they were referred to
Allahabad for better treatment, he said.
