Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has given a green signal for the construction of a new 100-room UP Bhawan in Noida, near the national capital, an official said on Thursday.
The building will be built in Sector 44 over a acre of land.
The Chief Minister granted permission to use the land near the Mahamaya Girls Inter College on the Expressway for constructing the bhawan which would be a 100-room plush single-storey building.
The building will be constructed by the Rajya Sampatti department, which is likely to buy it from the Noida Authority at a price negotiated at around Rs.65 crore, an official said.
Uttar Pradesh already has two high-value properties in New Delhi - another UP Bhawan and UP Sadan. While the former is used by journalists, legislators and officials on subsidized tarriff, UP Sadan is used by officials of the principal secretary rank and ministers.
With the construction of the new UP Bhawan in Noida, officials said the waiting list and unavailability of rooms at the already existing UP Bhawan, which is generally over-booked, will be met.
