Udalguri (Assam): One person was killed and three others were injured in a grenade blast this morning in Udalguri district, police said.
The grenade exploded near a market in Rowta area here killing one person on spot while three others sustained serious injuries, they said.
IGP (BTAD) L.R. Bishnoi confirming the incident said the deceased was identified as Ram Chandra Barman.
The injured persons were admitted to a local hospital. Senior police and civil officials have rushed to the spot and the matter is being investigated.
Unaware that it was a bomb, he hit the object with a hammer around 6.30 a.m. on Sunday, leading to an explosion that killed him on the spot. Three others, including a woman, were also injured in the incident.
