New Delhi: A woman flier was arrested at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) here for allegedly carrying live bullets in her baggage, officials said today.
They said the incident occurred around 9:00 PM yesterday when Priyanka A, travelling to Lucknow, was intercepted by CISF personnel as she was carrying four bullets of 7.65-mm calibre in her baggage.
"The lady could not produce valid documents for carrying the ammunition. She was handed over to Delhi Police which arrested her under provisions of the Arms Act," a senior official said.
In another incident at the IGIA early today, a person identified as B S Singh was arrested for allegedly indulging in touting activities on the arrival area of the airport.
"Singh was luring passengers in the name of cheap taxis and hotels. He was intercepted by CISF personnel at about 1:00 AM and later handed over to Delhi Police which arrested him," an official said.
