Counting of votes in the Warangal Lok Sabha constituency is underway and trends show that TRS' Dayakar Pasunoori has established as early lead.
Former deputy chief minister and education minister of Telangana, Kadiyam Srihari of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) won this seat in the 2014 election. He defeated Rajaiah Siricilla of Congress by receiving 56.30 per cent of vote share.
In 2015 by-election, Pasunoori Dayakar of TRS won.
TRS has now fielded Dayakar Pasunoori for 2019 Lok Sabha election as well.
A total of 12 candidates are in the fray for Warangal seat.
What makes this seat stand out is -- it is reserved for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes.
The seat had seen a close fight between Congress and TDP earlier.
Warangal went to polls on April 11 in the first phase of 2019 Lok Sabha election. 73 per cent voting was recorded on polling day.
