Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government-sponsored delegation of saints, led by Acharya Pramod Krishnan, is all set to submit its report on Kairana exodus matter to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday.
According to the reports available with India TV, the delegation has pointed out that the visit of BJP’s fact-finding team was political, aiming to create an environment of communal tension in the region ahead of Assembly polls to be held early next year.
It specifically noted that former DGP Brij Lal, who was part of the BJP’s fact-finding team which visited Kairana last week, failed extensively to contain the violence in the region when he was in service.
It also raised question on the role of Hukum Singh, BJP MP from Kairana, who first raised the issue of religion-specific migration. It said that the BJP leader too had not done anything to stop the relocation of people.
The delegation in its report further suggested floating a separate department or ministry that will only look into communal matters and report it directly to the Chief Minister.
The controversy regarding the exodus of people from Kairana in Shamli district of the state started after BJP MP Hukum Singh release a list of over 350 Hindu families alleging Muslims forced to them to leave their homes in the Muslim-majority town.
