The family of Major Ketan Sharma, who was martyred in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag on Monday, is in a state of shock.
Major Sharma is Survived by wife Ira Sharma, and their four-year old daughter.
Major Sharma's family has been mourning the demise of their brave son ever since the news of his martyrdom arrived.
In a heartrending video that has gone viral, Major Sharma's mother can be seen crying and asking people where her son was.
"We were first informed about Ketan being injured in an encounter, but later we were confirmed that he had attained martyrdom," Major Sharma's uncle told ANI.
In the Anantnag encounter, two soldiers had got injured. Both were rushed to the nearby hospital, where Major Sharma succumbed to his injuries.
Major Sharma was inducted into the Indian Army in December 2012. He was posted at 19 Rashtriya Rifles.
