Army Chief Bipin Rawat on Wednesday warned or more Uri-like attacks on military installations in the hinterland. However, after his statement grabbed the headlines, he clarified that the Army should be ready to thwart such attempts.
While Bipin Rawat was saying that the security forces should be ready to face such situations, the Army, at the same time, launched the year’s second biggest search and combing operation in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
The operation was carried out in around 20 villages of Shopian to nab the hiding Lashkar-e-Taiba, Hizbul Mujahideen and Jaish-e-Mohammad militants.
According to India TV sources, the forces also identified some over-ground workers.
