BJP MLA Nandkishore Gurjar escaped an attempt on his life on Sunday night as four miscreants opened firing at his vehicle in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad last night. The incident took place at around 10.30 pm near Hindon bridge in Farukhnagar, the police said.
Four miscreants, riding on two bikes, approached the Loni MLA's vehicle and started firing at him, a senior police official told India TV. In retaliation, the legislator's private security guards fired back at the goons and the driver drove the vehicle straight to Farukhnagar police chowki, Vaibhav Krishan, SSP Ghaziabad said.
Gurjar was on his way to his native village Ganauli from a Mawana Meerut Sangh meeting.
The police have filed a complaint against unknown miscreants, he said.
