The government has announced the names of people who will be conferred with the prestigious Padma awards for their achievements in different fields. In the list of 120 distinguished personalities selected for the honour, there are a few who have largely remained unknown in the country.
These people, the unsung heroes of India, have dedicated their lives for their respective causes but remain anonymous on the world map.
The awards are mere acknowledgement of the great work they have been doing for decades.
The focus of this year's Padma awards, according to the officials in the Home Ministry, was on recognising talent of unknown and unsung heroes of the country.
