Gurgaon: Nothing can be more hurtful for a mother than seeing her little child in pain. Shivani Sharma, mother of a 3-year-old daughter named Myra, went through this extreme trauma on April 28.

After she left off Myra at Cherub Angels, a daycare centre in Gurgaon, she got a call in half an hour that made her rush to a hospital.

Her daughter’s thumb was allegedly crushed and being amputated.

The incident came to light when Shivani took to social networking site Facebook to express her grief. She posted the entire episode and has received over 9,000 shares till now.

In her post, she had told that a teacher from the daycare called her and said that Myra has hit her thumb and has been taken to a hospital.

Upon reaching the hospital, she learnt that the thumb had been amputated.

"It means the top half part of the thumb has been crushed and cut apart. I was told that another kid Kartik pushed door close and her finger came inside," she wrote.

"Can you believe the situation when my three-year-old is in front of my eyes bleeding? The resident plastic surgeon told me that nothing can be done to broken thumb but only a surgery to close the cut. Which means for her whole life she will never have a full thumb nor any nail, instead she will have a round cut finger."

She further wrote that husband of the daycare’s owner had come to her house on May 1 to apologise and offered to pay for the treatment, but hadn’t acted upon his words till yet.

She even alleged to have received threats against approaching the police. However, Shivani has filed an FIR against the daycare owner.

"These people are so heartless and professional that they are not even scared of God, law and society," she writes.

As soon as Shivani’s post started garnering attention, the daycare owner deactivated her profile and FB page.
