Members of the Indian Army commando unit which carried out the 2016 Surgical Strikes inside the Pakistan territory not only carried high-calibre weapons and ammunition with them but also something unusual.
Disclosing a few details of the successful military operation against terror launch pads, former Nagrota Corps commander Lt Gen Rajendra Nimborkar revealed that that the troops carried leopard's urine and faeces to keep barking dogs away.
Speaking at an event in Pune, Nimborkar said that while chalking the strategy for the operation they were aware wild dogs could attack the troops jeopardising the whole exercise.
"Our troops carried leopards’ urine and faeces to counter the barking dogs. They used to spray it outside the village. This worked well and dogs left them alone," Nimborkar said.
He said highest secrecy was maintained in the whole operation which stunned the terrorists as well as the Pakistan army.
Three terror launch pads were destroyed and 29 militants were killed during the operation, Nimborkar added.
