Surat: Diamond firm to gift 600 cars to staff as Diwali gift, 2 women employees to get keys from PM Modi

At the same time, in Surat, the firm - Hari Krishna Exports - will conduct the ceremony and will give cars to 600 of its employees, said media reports.

On behalf of a Surat-based diamond firm, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday, will hand over car keys to two women employees of the firm, under a ‘Skill India Incentive Ceremony’. 

 At the same time, in Surat, the firm - Hari Krishna Exports - will conduct the ceremony and will give cars to 600 of its employees, said media reports.

The chairman of the firm, Savji Dholakia said, reported The Indian Express, “This year we have shortlisted 1,600 diamond polishers working in our company who performed well adding to the growth of the company. We wanted to give them incentives. Thus, whoever was interested in the car will receive cars and the rest will be given Fixed deposits and flats. This is an effort to motivate them to perform even better in the future.”

The employees will receive Maruti Suzuki Alto and Maruti Suzuki Celerio cars, said reports. 

For the last four years, as Diwali bonuses, the company has been giving such gifts to its employees and so far, nearly 4000 of the 5500 employees have received such gifts, reports further said.

For the staff in Surat the ceremony, in which PM will hand over the keys to the two women employees, will be telecast live.
