The Supreme Court will not hear a plea seeking probe into Special CBI Judge BH Loya's death case on January 15 due to non availability of judge M Shantanagoudar.
As per the cause list of the apex court, Court No. 10 presided over by Justice Arun Mishra would not be sitting on Monday as one of the judges Shantanagoudar is on leave, further indicating a postponement in the mysterious death case.
Earlier, the bench had listed the plea seeking an independent probe in this case to be taken up on 15th January.
Judge Loya, who was hearing a case relating to the killing of gangster Sohrabuddin Sheikh in an alleged fake shootout in which BJP chief Amit Shah was named an accused (later discharged by Special CBI Court, Mumbai), died of cardiac arrest in 2014. His family has raised doubts over the circumstances in which Judge Loya died and have sought an independent probe into it.
