As the Congress-led Opposition prepares to corner the BJP-led NDA government during Monsoon Session of Parliament beginning on Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter to launch a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A day after he broke his silence over 'Muslim party' row asserting that he stands with 'exploited, marginalised and the persecuted', Rahul Gandhi posted a 'pop quiz' which apparently targeted PM Modi.
"Pop Quiz. I bow to the most powerful in the line. A person's strength & power are all that are important to me. I use hatred & fear to maintain the hierarchy of power. I seek out the weakest & crush them. I rank all living beings based on their usefulness to me. Who am I?" Rahul Gandhi said on Twitter attaching the video of Swami Agnivesh being attacked in Jharkhand's Pakur. The 78-year-old activist was assaulted by suspected Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) activists on Tuesday (July 17) shouting "Jai Shri Ram" slogans.
The tweet from the top Congress leader has come a day after he said that his party stands with the persecuted and the "last person in the line" and seeks to erase "hatred and fear". Rahul Gandhi's statement was in response to the controversy which broke out following his alleged remark that the Congress was a "party for Muslims".
The Congress had denied the remark published recently in an Urdu daily as false and baseless.
"I stand with the last person in the line. The exploited, marginalised and the persecuted. Their religion, caste or beliefs matter little to me.
"I seek out those in pain and embrace them. I erase hatred and fear. I love all living beings. I am the Congress," the Congress president had said on Twitter.
The BJP has been seeking a clarification from Gandhi over the remarks.
