Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet the three service chiefs today to review the national security in view of the continuing ceasefire violations by Pakistan along LoC as well as increase in infiltration bids along the international border.
The meeting becomes significant in view of the fact that a record number of infiltration attempts along the international border have been witnessed this time.
The BSF has foiled at least 15 infiltration bids along the international border after September 29 when India carried out “surgical strikes” on the terror launch-pads based in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Intelligence agencies have already warned of the possibility of more terror attacks ahead of Pakistan Army chief General Raheel Sharif's scheduled retirement at the end of this month.
According to some media reports, intelligence agencies have specifically warned that Lashkar-e-Taiba is planning a big strike in India and that the LeT terrorists are planning to use the rivers, Nikki Tavi and Badi Tavi, to enter India.
The intelligence agencies have also said that Hafiz Saeed has made Lashkar commander Abu Irfan Tandewala the in-charge of the operation.
