The prime minister's day-long visit began with the inauguration of a chocolate plant of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, owner of the Amul brand, at Mogar in Anand district.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated a chocolate plant for milk cooperative Amul in Gujarat's Anand. The prime minister was in Gujarat for a one-day visit. He also inaugurated a museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi and a natural gas pipeline laid by Gujarat State Petronet Limited (GSPL) between Mundra Port and Anjar.

The prime minister's day-long visit began with inauguration of a chocolate plant of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), owner of the Amul brand, at Mogar in Anand district.The plant, built with an investment of Rs. 190 crore, will produce 1,000 tonnes of chocolates every month against the capacity of 600 tonnes of the existing plant. 

In Rajkot, PM Modi inaugurated newly-built Mahatma Gandhi Museum at Alfred High School. The school, from where Mahatma Gandhi passed his matriculation in 1887, was renamed Mohandas Gandhi High School after independence. It was closed in 2017 after the authorities decided to convert it into a museum.

PM Modi also dedicated, at Anjar in Kutch district, a natural gas pipeline laid by Gujarat State Petronet Limited (GSPL) between Mundra Port and Anjar.

12:27 pm: Guided by Sardar Patel, Pritamrai Desai Ji worked on cooperative housing in a big way in Ahmedabad. These efforts gave wings to the aspirations of several people: PM 

12:27 pm: A century ago, Sardar Patel entered civic politics of Ahmedabad. He won from Dariapur. His margin of victory then was 1 vote. When he assumed office as the head of the municipality, he laid emphasis on urban development, planning and in that he worked on cooperative housing: PM

12:26 pm: In various parts of the world, at various times we saw what socialism is, we also saw capitalism. But, through Amul Sardar Patel showed another way. Here is a way where neither Government or industrialists call the shots. It is the people who matter. This is a unique model: PM

12:25 pm: Today, Amul has become an inspiration world over. People from overseas also ask me about Amul. Amul is not only about milk processing. This is an excellent model of empowerment: PM
