PM Narendra Modi on Thursday conveyed Diwali greetings to the all-women crew of naval vessel INS Tarini, currently on a mission to circumnavigate the globe.
The prime minister, who had earlier met the crew of INSV Tarini on August 16 this year, communicated with them through video call and wished them a "Happy Diwali" on behalf of the nation. He also wished them success in their mission.
He made a video call to the crew members of INS Tarini to wish them on behalf of the nation, Navy spokesperson Capt. D K Sharma said.
PM Modi also wished them success in their mission, the official added.
INS Tarini is currently approaching its first stop in Fremantle, Australia and is expected to reach there on October 22 after covering 4770 nautical miles, said the Navy official.
Meanwhile, the prime minister also conveyed birthday greetings in advance to two of the crew -- Lt. Commander Vartika Joshi and Lt. Payal Gupta -- whose birthdays are coming up shortly.
