Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday appreciated the Odisha government for its effort to minimise the effect of cyclone fani in the state.
Modi said that the "communication between the state and the Central government was very good" because to which a mass human destruction could be averted.
“Communication was very good between state and Central Govt. I was also monitoring. The way people of Odisha complied with every instruction of Govt is praiseworthy,” Prime Minister said.
He announced that an additional sum of Rs 1,000 crore will be released for the state in addition to Rs 381 crore that was released previously.
PM Modi was accompanied by Governor Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who received him in Bhubaneswar.
Modi along with Naveen Patnaik held a review meeting with officials.
