Pathankot: A 15-year-old boy Pathankot boy accidentally shot himself in the head, with his father’s revolver while taking a selfie with his sister.

Amandeep Singh, a resident of Char Marla Quarter area, and a Class-10 student of local Guru Harkrishan Public School was severly injured after the incident took place, according to the media reports.

He was rushed to a local private hospital just after a gunshot was heard in the house by the neighbours and then they informed his parents as they had gone to attend a local function when such an incident took place. 

A local private hospital referred Singh to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana, where his condition is said to be stable. 

When Police investigated, Amandeep’s father, Gurkirpal Singh claimed that it was his licensed revolver and told the Police that the car was parked in the house with broken rear screen as they broke off to rush injured Amandeep to hospital as they could not find the car keys.

“We are investigating all angles. As the family is in a state of shock we will record their statements once the boy recovers,” said SSP Rakesh Kaushal.

The revolver has been seized by the police."We got information that a boy has accidently shot himself, when we came here family told us that he was trying to take selfie with his mobile phone. We are investigating the matter," said Manoj Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Pathankot.
