In yet another incident of violating ceasefire along the International Border, Pakistan troops fired mortars in the Poonch sector of Jammu region on Sunday.
Defence Ministry spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta told IANS that the Pakistanis used 82 mm mortars and automatics to target Indian positions at Krishna Ghati sector on the Line of Control.
"The shelling and firing started at 12 a.m. and our troops have responded befittingly," he said.
"Intermittent firing exchanges are still going on."
The official said no casualty or damage was reported on the Indian side.
