Pakistani troops on Thursday resorted to unprovoked shelling at Indian positions on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu region.
According to reports, Pakistani troops resorted to ceasefire violation in Bhimer Gali(BG) sector of Rajouri and in Hiranagar sector of Kathua district.
“The troops violated bilateral ceasefire in Bhimber Ghali (BG) sector of the LoC. They used mortars to target our positions,” Defence spokesman, lieutenant colonel, Manish Mehta, said.
The Indian troops retaliated to the ceasefire violations. There has been no report of any casualty or damage, he added.
The shelling stopped at 3.30 a.m., however small arms and automatic gunfire exchanges continued, he infomed.
Pakistani troops have so far violated ceasefire agreement more than 30 times since the Indian army carried out surgical strikes in PoK to destroy terror launching pads.
