One cop was martyred and at least four others were injured when militants attacked a bus carrying security personnel near Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar.
Security forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched an operation to trace the militants. LeT has claimed responsibility for the attack.
According to news agency ANI, the policeman succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
The injured policemen have been rushed to the Army's 92 Base Hospital, a police spokesperson said.
Earlier this evening, an Assistant Sub-Inspector of BSF lost his life in ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch.
