Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today unveiled a statue of veteran leader and former Bihar CM Ram Sundar Das to pay respect to the departed leader.
Kumar unveiled the statue of Das at a park in Lohia Nagar MIG Colony in Kankerbagh locality of Patna.
Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Prasad Yadav accompanied the CM on the occasion and paid respect to Das by garlanding his statue.
Das' two sons, Mritunjay Kumar and Sanjay Kumar, and his daughter-in-law Usha Kumari were present at the function.
Ram Sundar Das had died on March 6, 2015 due to age related problems. He was 95 at the time of his death.
Das was chief minister of Bihar as the head of the Janata Party government in 1979.
He had defeated Ram Vilas Paswan in the Hajipur (SC) Lok Sabha seat in 2009. But in the parliamentary polls in 2014 had lost to Paswan.
