The National Investigation Agency on Tuesday arrested a Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist involved in Lethpora Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Group Centre attack case, news agency ANI reported. According to the report, the terrorist had escaped to UAE on February 1, 2019. Government of India brought him back to the country on 31st March, it said.
Earlier in February, the agency had nabbed another Jaish militant, identified as Fayaz Ahmad Magray in the case.
2017 Lethpora CRPF terror attack case
The terrorist attack on Lethpora CRPF Group Centre was carried out by three terrorists of JeM on the intervening night of December 30-31,2017.
The central terror probe agency investigation revealed that three terrorists namely Fardeen Ahmad Khandey, Manzoor Baba and a Pakistani terrorist Abdul Shakoor planned and executed the attack on CRPF. These three terrorists were killed during the encounter by the security forces.
In this attack, 5 CRPF personnel were martyred and 3 were grievously injured.
