Arun Jaitley sees personal assets decline by Rs 2.83 crore in FY16
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has seen his assets decline by Rs 2.83 crore in fiscal year ended March 2016 to Rs 68.41 crore due to fall in cash balance in bank accounts. In his declaration of Assets and Liabilities for 2015-16 posted on the PMO website, Jaitley said the value of his immovable properties including residential buildings and land remained unchanged at Rs 34.49 crore as compared to 2014-15 fiscal.
Mumbai-Ahmedabad high speed rail project is 'useless': Rakesh Mohan
Terming the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high speed rail corridor as a "useless project" and "complete waste of money", former RBI deputy governor Rakesh Mohan today said India needs the right kind of investment in transport sector if it wants to grow at 7-9 per cent. He also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Make in India' initiative will not be effective if the government does not invest in transport sector, adding that India needs affordable and accessible transportation.
