New Delhi Municipal Corporation in association with Ministry of Information Technology has opened its first “Common Service Centre” (CSC) kiosk at Minto Road.

At this kiosk,  the residents can apply for facilities such as passport, Aadhaar card, air and railway tickets.

Kiosk is a part of NDMC’s smart city project which aims to provide online services and digital community services to residents.

Aadhaar linked bank account holders can also withdraw up to ₹10,000 from the kiosk.

NDMC is also planning to open 15 such kiosks by march 2019 in busy places like Connaught Place, Gol Dak Khana and a few Metro stations.

According to media reports, the employees working at the kiosks would fill out the forms.

Later the applicants would be updated on when to visit the passport or Aadhaar office. This thing will ultimately reduce the problem of standing in huge queue.

The kiosk will also provide information related to various NDMC’s services such as electricity and water bill payment, building approval plan, birth and death certificates, health licenses, booking of community halls, property tax etc.

The “Common Service Centre” (CSC) kiosk was inaugurated by Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal.

After the event, Baijal also inaugurated a police facilitation kiosk and e-FIR facility at Khan Market.

This kiosk facility has been set up by NDMC for Delhi Police.

The kiosk will run 24x7 and will be managed by a dedicated police facilitation officer along with supporting staff.
