Brajesh Thakur, the man who ran the Muzaffarpur shelter home where dozens of minor girls were raped and tortured, on Wednesday brazenly defended himself and said that he was being framed as he was going to contest election.
Thakur was produced before a POSCO court in Muzaffarpur along with nine other accused arrested in the case amid tight security. Later, while being escorted to the police van, he told the media that he is being framed in the case as he was going to contest election from Muzaffarpur on Congress ticket. "Everything was finalised...I was going to join Congress. I am being framed. None of the girls have taken my name, you can check," Thakur said.
"I've never had any relation with Madhu (his close aide who is absconding). This has been propagated by some newspapers who want my newspaper office to shut down. Their business is getting affected due to my newspaper," Brajesh Thakur said.
Police had a tough time controlling the crowd outside the court where a woman threw ink at Brajesh Thakur.
